Hi All,
Wanted to give an update on Dad. He fell a week ago and basically peeled the skin off his right forearm. He went to the dr on Wednesday as they thought it was getting infected. He's on an antibiotic. Prayers for healing are appreciated.
Via Sue, Kathleen is getting close to birthing. Prayers again appreciated.
Heard via Bonnie via Jill that Audrey's cataract surgery on her right eye was successful. Great news! And sounds like Bonnie's knee is healing nicely and she's gotten rave reviews at her therapy sessions. Way to go Bonnie! Keep it up!
Some of you might remember Verna's youngest son Vernell Hoechst. He died after being in a motorcycle accident on Sept 8 (the same day his Dad Waldo died 66 years ago). Funeral is next Friday in Bismarck. He was a nice guy - we corresponded about genealogy. He was 66. His wife died 2 years ago. He had 4 kids and I think 11 grandkids. Only leaves Lonnie & Mark left.
Pete & I went biking on the Cannon Valley Trail on Thursday - was wonderful. Saw 3 young deer in a group about 12' from the trail -- very cool. Love you all! Barb

Happy Birthday today to Nick Johnson & Eric Boshinski! Hope you both enjoy your special day! Hard to believe August is about over! We finally got some rain here so the lawns are the greenest they have been all summer! So nice to see things looking alive! Big day for Bonnie & Robert as they both have doctor appointments. We may "meet them in the hallway" at the clinic. Mom sees her cardiologist as a follow up of her hospital stay. Robert is seeing his primary care physician. It is a beautiful day in ND! Hope the birthday guys have nice weather for celebrating today too!

Thanks for the update on Uncle Robert! Kevin took mom to the ER yesterday afternoon & she was admitted to the hospital and will be there until Thursday. She has been nauseated for about a month & finally just had to figure out what is wrong. She has fluid buildup in her lungs & around her heart & they believe the pressure from the fluid in the lungs was causing pressure on her stomach which could be cause of nausea. Hope they have it figured out. Her heart rate was high so they are working with meds to get things settled down. She had more tests today & they just want to monitor her tonight. Your prayers are appreciated!!

So sorry to hear Bonnie is still not feeling well. Sounds miserable. Am praying for relief and healing for you Bonnie!
FYI, I am heading back to Minot tomorrow (Weds) as Dad has a rescheduled doctor's appointment Friday. The home health nurse was working with Dad on pain medication and noted he's been feeling short of breath the last few days and has been needing a higher level of oxygen and he feels tired. So the doctor's office suggested he come in Friday (versus next Tues). He did a blood draw at Edgewood this morning so they'll have the latest info to check on things. Continued prayers are appreciated!! Pete isn't able to come this time so am grateful for our car that practically drives itself there (and knows the route by heart). And so grateful Dad is in "Plus Care" which gives him more help.
Hang in there everyone!

Happy 2nd birthday on this Friday to little Charlee Connor! Hope she has a fun day & that Grandma Desi will post some photos! Love birthday parties for the littles!

It is a rainy Friday here & we could not be happier! We need rain desperately so this is such a gift! We have had over 1/2 an inch already & it is supposed to rain on & off this weekend!

Asking for prayers for my mom. She is still fighting nausea & not feeling well. Does not have an appetite & is weak as she is able to do much. It is hard.

Kevin visited Uncle Robert on Wednesday & said he is doing well in his new temporary room at Edgewood.

Love to all! Stay healthy & well! Hope our students & teachers have a great school year!

Happy 19th Birthday to Talon Hultman today! Hope you have had a great day! Hard to believe you can be 19 already! Hope you have had a good summer & are ready for new adventures this fall.

Uncle Robert is in the hospital again. His blood pressure was low & his hemoglobin is low again also. He got a couple units of blood and an iron infusion. We talked with Barb this evening and sounds like he will stay in the hospital another day or two & then hopefully back to Edgewood Vista. Please send prayers his way!

Happy August everyone! The family website has been updated for the month of August. Looks like another very hot week in ND! Hate to say it, but I am looking forward to the cooler fall and winter temps! My mom is doing well with her knee and yesterday she ventured to the farm for a "visit". She got to see her pets and spend some time in her house. She is doing well with her knee and this week we will see the surgeon's physician's assistant for her two week follow up visit. Shelley is coming on Thursday of this week and will be staying for 10 days to help out. Mom is hoping they can make pickles if there are cucumbers ready. The days are so busy but I still don't feel like I get much done. Maybe that is just how it is when you get old. Ha!

Hello everyone! A little update on happenings in Velva. Mom had her total knee replacement surgery on Tuesday, July 20th. She was a rock star with the surgery! We are at my house for recovery. She is staying in the basement in her own suite. Our days are very busy. Exercising, taking drugs, eating, sleeping, walking, etc... I need to go back to work a bit this week, so she will have to work toward being more independent. Thinking of Uncle Robert & his struggles with pain, hope he finds some relief. Sue is here, while Barb went back to Minnesota & have a break! Praying for healing & rest of all who are not feeling well! Love to all!

Happy belated anniversary wishes Val and Kevin! The simple celebrations are always the best. Dave and I are doing good and just enjoy puddering around the house. He's seeing his acupuncturist again and it really seems to be helping. Because of his heart condition his circulation is terrible but acupuncture is helping. I'm good too, just trying to maintain a 20 hour work at Safeway but they want more, more and more! Even suggesting I run the department!! You all know how that goes. It seems like I'm constantly busy taking care of Dave, working, helping with mom, and seeing the grandkids, no slowing down here lol! We've had such a nice summer in Colorado. Rain and the temps haven't been terribly hot. Dave and I enjoy evenings out in our litte red convertible to our local Tastee Freeze. My german shepherd puppy, Wolfie, continues to grown like Marmaduke yikes! Love to all and we're sending our prays to Auntie Bonnie. Your surgery is going to go great and you're going to feel so much BETTER! going to do great and feel so much better
