Barb here relaying news from Houston. Everyone is safe. Sue & Steven are at their house and have had 20" of rain since Fri nite. They expect 10" more today. Fortunately everything is draining in the yard and street. Her windows and doors are fine. They lost power early this am (I think about 4 am), but she texted at 11:20 am that they got full power back!! Yee haw! And she's charging everything up again (e.g. cell phone). She did discover some dripping on her bathroom door frame so went into the attic at 2:15 am and found a water dripping on a pipe coming from the roof. She & Steven wrapped towels around it & she checked it again at 4 am and it was damp but not soaked. And discovered another leak by an a/c pipe. So they're watching that and it's manageable and she's SO grateful she had stayed up late & noticed the damp spot or there could have been a lot of damage. Your continued prayers are appreciated! They need continued drainage!

Kathleen is with Craig at his folks' house. They went to visit Craig's folks but couldn't get back as the freeway exit was flooded. But they're safe and sheltered!

The situation sounds horrible in the Houston area -- way too much rain with no where for it to go. Lots of water rescues and helicopter rescues. Val, any news from Marcella in Edna? That's much closer to where the eye hit.
Love to all!, Barb

Thanks for the update Sue!! Sure hope you don"t have any flooding in your home & your electricity stays on. The reports on TV sound like it is going to be terrible. Stay safe. My dad's sister Marcella lives in Edna, TX which is in the path of the storm too. She is staying in her home & hoping for the best! Keep us updated!

Hi everyone! Thanks, Shelley for your message. We are doing fine. The hurricane became a Category 4 tonight, but it came in about 150 miles to the southwest of us. They really expected it there so didn't recommend evacuation for us in the Houston area. We, however, are supposed to get 25-35 inches of rain over the next few days so the big concern is the likelihood of flooding. I am about 34 ft above sea level and things seem to drain well here, so hopefully I won't have a problem. Roads will flood so I will probably be stuck here at home. Some computer models are saying we will have extreme rain and flooding through next Friday. Hope not. I'm hoping and praying we don't lose our electricity. It is way to humid and hot here to go without! School was cancelled today and we will see what they decide next week. We are managing fine and appreciate all your good thoughts and prayers. We will do our best to stay safe.

It was so wonderful to see everyone a few weeks ago. Too bad there is never enough time to talk with everyone the way I want to. The kids all enjoyed the trip and loved meeting everyone. We all have great memories of our days together in ND.

Sue and Kids! As Houston sounds like it will be completely drenched. Can you post to let us know-- are you being evacuated?

Me again! I also want to add that it was delightful to have "young people" at the reunion & I want to thank Steven & Mary and Kathleen & Craig for coming, as well as Nick! Craig & Kathleen were the Oreo game champions & I believe Steven may have placed first in the fruit roll up game! Things were happening so fast, I could not keep track! Anyway, it was great to meet you and great to have you at the Haga Reunion!

Thank you Barb for being on the ball & posting the nice photos from the anniversary celebration & Haga Reunion! What a memorable weekend! Barb & Sue did a WONDERFUL job hosting such a special evening for Robert & Ardella to celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary! All the special touches were so nice. The personalized placemats & coasters, the cute little candy boxes, the beautiful cake & having your mom's wedding dress there as well as some items from their wedding day (like those nut cups!). All so very nice! More special than anything was that Sue & her family & Barb & Pete were all home! And a special bonus was having Audrey & Cindy as well as Shelley, Deb & Nick there to share in the special celebration with us "locals"! Wonderful evening! Then the next day, we celebrated again with the Haga Reunion in Bergen! What an amazing day! It went by so quickly & I know many have expressed that they would have liked to have more time together, but I believe one magical & memorable day made it a joy for all! It was alot of planning & preparing, but looking back on it, it was worth it! To see the happy faces, hugs and stories being exchanged made me feel good! I sincerely want to thank all of you for your help with making it a great day! I was overwhelmed with the amount of donations received from the silent auction & other donations. We were able to cover our expenses and make a nice donation to the Bergen/Bethel cemeteries and have enough money to order a new door for the church! So wonderful! Thank you to Cindy, Audrey, Jill & Desi for making the trip to ND! Also to Shelley, Deb & NIck for coming back to ND for this special occasion! We missed those of you that could not make it! I am working on putting together a CD of photos and waiting on my friend Lisa to get the group photos done! Wonderful memories!

Hi All!,
We were SO thrilled to see everyone at the Anniversary Party/Haga Reunion/Visit to the Farm! Huge thanks to Kevin, Val, Shelley & Bonnie (and Punky & Diane) for hosting an incredible reunion!! Was absolutely phenomenal & so well organized! You guys are awesome! And huge thanks to everyone that travelled to the reunion & anniversary party -- it is always SO great to see everyone & wouldn't have been the same without you! Thanks Bonnie & Curt for having us out to the farm on Sunday & the chance to visit (the reunion was so action-packed I did not get to visit much). The weekend flew by way too fast but it was incredible. What wonderful memories!

I've posted some pics at the bottom of the tree -- "Haga Reunion". Please add some of your pictures & feel free to delete any of mine.

Hope everyone is doing great! Love, Barb & Pete

Got home Thursday evening after the awesome vacation to ND and my stay with Mom. First off, she wanted me to tell everyone how much she enjoyed being with all of you, and to thank all of you for all the wonderful food, fun, and great memories. She was a delight the whole trip and I also have many special memories that will always be with me. Ditto on the thanks for all the amazing plans that were put in to the anniversary party(Sue, Barb, and Pete-I know your folks really appreciate all you did to make it a special time to remember their special day!) and Bonnie, Val, Kevin, and Shelley- wow, wow, wow is all I can say, the reunion was so spectacular, I'm hoping you are all taking a much deserved break! The one thing my Mom said over and over that suprised her was "how few people I knew at the reunion" (she was thinking how many "young" folks were there and "not as many of the older people" she would know-but thoroughly enjoyed herself! I was so proud of how well she didn't "poop out" (this was a BIG deal since she usually plays out pretty easily) as a matter of fact, as soon as we were back in Casper she was needing to rest a lot. She decided it might be the "altitude", lol. I enjoyed all of it but am happy to be home with my Ronnie. ;)
Today we were in Estes Park for an association meeting, our last hopefully-the few that make everything so miserable just make it unbearable. We do have a contract so hopefully all goes through. Pretty and green up there, I guess there was a bear who was in the yard last evening, people were out and saw and heard it growling. Yikes! Also left a big pile of bear scat-eww! lol
Can't wait to get the CD of the reunion, miss you all. Love you.

Happy Belated Birthday, Jenny, hope you had a good day. Three birthdays in a row, I got behind-but I hope you will forgive me and know I always think of you, living in that big city of Denver and I hope you are doing well. Here it is still HOT AND DRY.
Love, Bonnie
