HAPPY BIRTHDAY,SHELLEY! Hope your day is going well, and that you will find something to do to celebrate your special day. You came into the world in a big hurry, on the day of Grandma Lue's auction sale at the farm. I won't forget that she soon got to Velva to watch your sisters and take care of our house in Velva, she was always there to help. Hope to call you soon. Enjoy your special day. We love you. Love, Mom and Dad (out chasing bulls again,UGH)

Hello family - it's me the PIG! I just wanted to wish my wonderful sister and her awesome husband a very happy 35th wedding anniversary! I hope you two are having a great time "on the mountain" and winning lots of moola! $35,000 would be a great win for your anniversary, $3,500 would be awesome too or heck even $35 sounds good lol.

It was so much fun seeing Bonnie, Val, Kevin and Erica last weekend. We packed a lot of activities into the short time that we had together but we always have a great time. As Val indicated, I was the big game night winner and did squeal with delight! Oink, oink, snort, snort. It was my first time playing left, right, center.

Not much happening with us - no work so we've just been laying low. We're sure hope that oil and gas drilling resumes soon so we can start making some money again.

I'm so glad to see Fall. I just love the colorful trees and cool nights.

Love to all - keep posting :-)

Back from a great trip to Hulett,Wyoming(my dream destination)would love to live there, Devils Tower hiking , and a wonderful visit with Audrey,Cindy, Desiree, Jill, Erica, John,Candy, London, and Talon in Casper, Wyoming. It was so much fun to be together, many laughs and much reminiscing, lots of good food , games, miniature golf, movies, and just being there was great. Audrey is feeling good and also looking good. Jill and I stayed with her, the rest had fine digs at a fairly new motel in eastern Casper. Also got to see Curt's sister and niece who live in Lander, Wyoming and made the trip to Casper on Sunday for some special shopping and to have lunch and visit us.
If you have facebook there are some photos of us, sure will Val get them on the family website. Without planning to do this we actually drove the whole way on Monday, took the interstate up to Hardin Montana, and then connected with Hwy 2 at Williston. The speed limit in both Wyoming and Montana is 80 so you can make some pretty fast time. Arrived home at 12:30 a.m., Tuesday morning. A lot of time in the car, but we did stop 4 times for very short breaks. Saw the flames from the burning natural gas at the oil wells around Williston. Hope to meet up again, possibly in the Black Hills.
All was pretty good at home, except for a incident with Wayne, the hired man, but that is nothing new. Thanks to Casper and Colorado people for being such great hosts. Bonnie F.

Had such a wonderful visit with Aunt Bonnie, Kevin, Val, and Erica-they all look terrific! We had so much fun, my mom really enjoyed the visit, many great memories made, I just always feel so lonesome for the "old" days when we part. Wish everyone could have been in Casper for this excellent time. Have friends but more and more I realize how much my family means to me, wish everyone in the world was as blessed as we are! I know no matter what I can always count on all and any of you, thank you for making my life so blessed.
Hopefully Val will post some of the pictures she took. We all know Kevin is one in a million and definitely proved himself by dealing with all the "craziness" of the weekend.
I hate to see the summer end too, this old body can't take the cold anymore lol. Enjoyed your post Barb and Pete.
Love to all!

Happy Labor Day HHFers. Hope everyone is enjoying a well deserved day off. SO glad to hear things are going well in Casper (thanks for posting Val) -- we're so glad you guys could all get together and we look forward to some pics of the event!

We stayed at home this weekend which was nice. Our last "event" was 2 weeks ago when we drove to Lanesboro, MN and went biking and golfing for 3 days. We biked 37 miles (I didn't admit to Pete that my legs were already getting tired at mile 10, but I found the strength to go an extra 10 miles to the lefse factory, and then had a pie stop with only 6 miles to go that rejuvenated me). Food can be such an inspiration! LOL!

News from our Rÿa relatives in Norway. Kari Lindstad Mack was invited to one of 6 garden parties thrown by King Harald & Queen Sonja to celebrate 25 years on the throne. Her party was at Oslo at the Queens Garden at the Royal Palace. She thinks she was selected (1500 people were invited) because she headed up a group that restored a cabin in Hadeland that was used by the Resistance fighters in WWII.

Otherwise, not much news here. I'm not ready to let go of summer, have so enjoyed it but it sure zipped by. Love to all!,
Barb & Pete

Hello all! Thought I would give a report from the travelers in Wyoming. We left Thursday about 10:45 am & worked our way through windy SW North Dakota & into SD & on to Hewlett, WY. We arrived in Hewlett early evening & checked into our room at the Hewlett Motel. Quaint little hotel along the Belle Fourche River. We decided to go to Devils Tower before dark. Enjoyed a hike around the perimeter of this beautiful national monument. Friday morning we had breakfast & we're on our way to Casper. The drive was not real scenic unless you like sage grass! Arrived in Casper about 12:30 & found Erica at our hotel, had some lunch & then went to Audrey's. Cindy, Desi & Jill were there! We spent the afternoon visiting & had lots of laughs. Cindy prepared a wonderful meal for us & later John, Candy & the kids came over, London & Talon have grown up so much since we last saw them! More later!!
